Location: Saratoga, NSW · Decking: Ekodeck composite · Team: Newgen Building
The photos document the deck construction and installed boards. Balustrades and other finishing works are not shown as complete.
What the project included
This Saratoga deck project brought together the work below the boards and the finish above them: footing excavations, new structural supports, treated-pine deck framing and Ekodeck composite decking.
- Footing work, posts and structural supports.
- Timber bearers, joists and associated framing.
- Joist protection tape before the boards were laid.
- Composite decking installation and deck-edge detailing.
Built for the site
The sloping ground and elevated deck areas made the structure a central part of this build. The construction photos show the progression from the original deck and exposed ground to new posts, bearers and joists, before the composite boards went down.
The deck follows the home and opens towards the water outlook. Looking underneath as well as across the boards gives a clearer picture of the work involved in a project like this.
Composite decking for Central Coast conditions
Ekodeck composite boards give the outdoor area a consistent finish without the regular oiling associated with timber decking. Composite still needs cleaning and care; product choice, ventilation, drainage and installation details all matter.
For your own project, we can discuss timber and composite options, the condition of any existing frame, access, stairs and finishing details. These are the things that shape the scope and price.
